Description
In this series, Markus Hintzen uses aerial photographs to document habitats used by humans, the so-called cultural landscape, which now accounts for over 90% of all land in Germany. Through this change of perspective, the viewer is given the opportunity to perceive this place differently and to rethink it. The direct downward view does not have the classic image composition with a foreground, middle ground and background. More of a pattern emerges, flat and tidy. These can be swimming pools, sports fields, parks, or even dams. The unusual bird’s eye view fulfils the old dream of flying and you can watch yourself playing miniature golf.
